CA$15.00

Thursday July 9th 10:00am-11:15am

Unleash your inner creativity and find pathways between visual art, literature and dance. Inspired by Rupi Kaur's writing workshop and Hiie Saumma's artistic expression workshop, we will explore the overlap in creative process from one form to another. Blur the boundaries of what you think you know about your creativity and see what arises when you put pen to paper, body to mind, and paint to canvas. Please bring a notebook, writing instrument, and ideally colourful writing instruments.

Week 1

Collaborative Explorations in Movement

Monday June 29th 8:30am-10:00am

This class is co-led with the magic of Lisa and Mayumi offering thoughts, images and movement palettes collaboratively. The first half will focus on sensation based exploration of the body and free moment. The second half will use these explorations as a way to craft a sequence of choreography. This way of working simultaneously gives opportunity for individual expression as well as aiming for a shared specificity of movement.

Technical Grit

Wednesdays July 1st 5:30pm-7:00pm

We at Aeris Körper believe that there is no right or wrong way to dance; every movement is a choice. Technical grit is a class to hone our ability to know the choices we make and effectively recreate movement and imagery with specificity. The goals are to fine tune our ability to activate musculature and sequential movement as they are requested of us. Think of this like a grammar class for the body. Let’s be movement nerds together.
