Megan English - It Happens in the Body

In my first meeting with Dramaturg Hanna Sybille Müller, we discussed both the problem and the possibility of the split Zoom screen. I dedicated the next rehearsal entirely to exploring the duet of the screens. Once Sid and Mayumi turned off their mirroring settings and adjusted/flipped their bodies and brains, they could orient to the direction of finding the other through their screen. We researched the relationship between their screens and the perspectives of dancing with their screens in their own spaces. The images below are a couple of examples of the mood of the rehearsal. Playful! The discoveries added new context and direction to the work. Good to be reminded early on in the process, that play is the best kind of work.
