Megan English - Creative Process Blog

After a week of intensive rehearsals in June, the performance scheduled for that month had to be postponed. Naturally, this meant we’d be returning to the process at a later date. We returned this past September.

We returned to looking at the original online piece created in 2020. Returned to looking at rehearsal footage taken in June. Returned to studio spaces we knew at a certain time. Returned to remembering what we’d done so far. These returns and patterns of returning offered up a theme in the piece that I hadn’t yet noticed. The return offers reflection. What’s different in the feeling of being here now? Or the same in the feeling of coming back to this? What is the feeling of something we’ve experienced before, in the place we are now?
