Our creative process requires A LOT of talking, writing, holding space, release and play. Irma and I talk about our lives, our goals, our dreams and we hold space for our fears, our desires and failures. These conversations lead us to our physical discoveries of sharing weight/contact, floor work and solo explorations. We envision the stories, our stories, their stories (ancestors), and we find those rhythms in our movement.

The connection we have to one another, to our ancestors, to their lands, our land, to their ancient language, stories and how they lived, inspires us. Our passion for collective healing, breaking generational curses and remembering joy ignites our relationship! We are creating a paradigm where queer people of colour feel heard, seen, and validated.

Poetry is another strong form of communicating emotions and story that can translate into movement and rhythms…………………………………………….

A New Paradigm:  

In our blood, the fears, the scarcity, and the fighting have        disappeared. 

This heaviness we inherited spoke volumes to the ghosts in the mirror. No longer will we need to heal the trauma of those who have found eternal peace. 

We collectively move forward toward a world where our hatred has ceased.

The Calling: Listening for the ancestral call

                   The ringing in our ears and repeated numbers

                   To ignore it would mean starting over again

                    We build the courage to follow the song

                    A song written uniquely, just for you

                    Listen closely to its nuances, the rhythms and the words

                    For it is guiding your feet, your heart and your pathway

                    Trust where you are going and how you are being led

                     Get out of your head and into your spirit

                     Cleanse away the negative thoughts and the confusion

                     Let go, LET go, LET GO!!!
